Project Background
Dushanzi, Xinjiang, one of the birthplaces for China's petrochemical industry which began utilizing and processing oil over 70 years ago, is a major petrochemical base in western China. Built in the Gobi Desert, Dushanzi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (referred to as Dushanzi Petrochemical) has made remarkable achievements not only in production but also in environmental protection.
Dushanzi Petrochemical, a large comprehensive petrochemical enterprise subordinate to PetroChina, is engaged in oil refining, chemical engineering and fine chemical processing. It has shouldered the responsibility of carrying out the revamping & expansion project to acquire the annual capacity of refining 10 million tons oil and producing 1.2 million tons ethylene. With a total investment of 27.2 billion yuan (RMB), the projects include the construction of 20 sets of oil refining equipment and 12 sets of petrochemical equipment. As planned, this petrochemical project, the largest of its kind in the history of China's petrochemical industry, was completed in 2008. It is not only another project of great symbolic meaning in China's drive to develop the west after the West-to-East Natural Gas Transmission Project but a major part of the strategic cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the field of energy.
In accordance with the five 'first-class' guidelines i.e. 'using first-class technology, following first-class standards, selecting first-class design institutes, employing first-class construction teams and building a first-class project', the company has been exerting itself to ensure that the equipment will be reliable and that the economic & technical specifications expected will be met so that the project will be completed safely, swiftly and successfully.

In a fiercely competitive field, Zhenjiang Klockner-Moeller Electrical Systems Co., Ltd. of Daqo Group, won out relying upon its innovative concepts, high-quality products, universally acclaimed services and rich experience in cooperation with companies from the petrochemical industry, obtained the contract worth 100 million yuan (RMB) with Xinjiang Dushanzi Petrochemical for supply of low-voltage products. The MODAN 6000 Low-voltage Intelligent Distribution System, produced from the proprietary technology of Moeller Co., Ltd. (Germany) using main components & parts imported from the German company became the preferred user device.
